Hey Julian, Thanks for the reply. My main gearing question is whether or not gearing preferences from a single machine translate to a tandem. We know what we like on our own single machines but are unsure how to extrapolate this to a tandem.
Re: drag braking I was simply concerned about the safety of using a shifter cable to actuate disc calipers - a big no no on mechanical lever driven discs. But someone pointed out that the forces are likely less at any given time and their application is gradual, which allayed my concerns a bit.
