Have you considered getting a 29.8 -> 27.2 seat post shim? Problem Solvers and Cane Creek both have that size, and there's a large selection of set back seat posts with a 27.2 diameter. I use a Cane Creek shim on a 31.6 -> 27.2 conversion, and have had no issues with slippage even at my svelte 215 pounds.
