I originally had my Rambouillet set up as 700 x 28c. BB height of 26.5cm. Still not enough fender clearance for my comfort level. After converting to 650b x 42mm, the BB height is now 26cm. Same as my 650b Bleriot, and I have 170 crankarms on both bikes!! So it is as pedal strike free as the Bleriot, Way more fender clearance now. I used Tektro R559 brakes with Kool Stop Thinline pads on the brakes as it needed another mm of reach to reach far enough. YMMV with stock shimano type R559 shoes. If I had to do it again I might try those Dia-compe centerpulls Riv sells.
