Very curious to see how this all turns out & to hear Grant/Riv’s thoughts on drum brake-ifying the Hunq. Good call keeping the 2nd small chainring plus spare chain just in case. Do you usually use a chain with master quick connect links? You may be able to use an extra master link and form a splice section that could be removed/added as needed rather than a full 2nd chain? May not save all that much weight/space and master links are easy to lose so may not be worth it but just a thought if you plan to ride in the larger ring majority of time anyway where the splice would just be installed most of the time and only stowed when going into low-low gearing. Hope it all works out for you as planned.
