This was one the reasons I hesitated. The other being I'd wear out the Velcro.
I was thinking of also getting the short leather straps, putting them thru the bag loops and then on the saddle loops. In the end, I purchased a Carradice roll bag in black to blend in with my black saddle and other black bags in the rear. My front bag is a grey XS saddle sack (love it).
