Great point, Jeremy. When I called my LBS to ask about 650b wheels for my wife’s Clementine build, the owner, who started the shop 25 years ago, was at first baffled by the rim brake rim request. When he called me back, Velocity build, for nearly twice what Rivendell was selling the same build. This deserves a new thread, but I was struck today by how much rough stuff absorbtion happens through the fork, and it’s hard to picture that happening as well through a beefy disk brake fork.
