I'm 10 days in to a very low carb diet, and I've struggled on rides over 40
miles at a pace of 17.5-ish mph, which is my normal June pace for my
standard routes. I've lost about 9 pounds, so it's working, but it's clear
my body is still transitioning. I'm much slower, and I've never before had
to take so many breaks on a 50-miler. I'm going to try a lower
intensity--the only reason I ever ride that pace is either a) I'm pressed
for time or b) I need to burn all those carbs!
