Lum et al, Something that shifting to ketogenic does is require a solid aerobic base, because your body can’t keep up with glucose demands without constant feeding. I strongly recommend looking in Phil Maffetone’s books on endurance.
To the comment someone made about the body not wanting to go into ketogenic because it sees this as starving: 2 million years of evolution says otherwise. Ketogenic or low carb was the standard human state until the rise of agriculture, at which point all kinds of problems came in, including increased dental issues, heart issues, and other health issues. Carbs used to be a fall back food, only used extensively when meat was not to be found. Our body’s very negative reaction to carbs is evidence of this.
