I don't think they're using actual niobium tubes (these go in nuclear 
reactors) but rather an alloy.  See this page from Columbus.

After all, weren't people asking what is Kaisei tubing just a few years ago?!  
Of course, Kaisei tubing use to be known as Ishiwata tubing which is good 
stuff!
