If you switch your 539s out with 559's, you should be able to adjust it 
enough to get the pads to fit 650b's, could go w/ 42's. (That's what I did 
with my

You could try sidepulls instead, not a bad route, wouldn't require a 650b 
wheelset.

If neither of those float your boat:   I would suggest looking for a 
canti-Rom:  it's almost a Ram, there are some out there w/ canti's, lets 
you run a bigger tire.  I'm running 700cx40 MSO's on 
mine:

(caveat:  it's REALLY close on clearance!  Less than a 40 would be prudent.

Actually, thinking along those lines...   if sidepulls or a 650b swap 
doesn't do it, you might really want to consider a AHH... I know, you said 
you didn't want another frame, but, maybe another frame would work better.  
There's the new ones coming in from elsewhere, or, maybe a used AHH, or, a 
Sam....
