Curtis, I have to admit that I did not see the mountain lion but did see the 
grizzly.  I had been riding just a bit in front of Paul and Justin (about the 
only time I was in front of them) and stopped to take a photo of them riding 
up.  Paul got up to me and stopped to tell me of his mountain lion encounter.  
He had been riding along and noticed something trotting along benind him in his 
rear view mirror.  He stopped to look at what it might be and the mountain lion 
stopped and crouched down.  They were having a stare off when Justin then came 
up behind the mountain lion who quickly turned and faced Justin.  Justin shot 
the photo and shared it.  I believe Justin then started inching forward and the 
lion took off.  At the time, neither Justin nor Paul was at all alarmed but, 
thinking back, seems like a pretty scary incident considering what happened up 
near Seattle recently.  I think someone said some local had commented that we 
needed to be worried about mountain lions not grizzlies.  At any rate, best 
argument for a rear view mirror I’ve ever heard.
