My double top tube 58 Appaloosa with with the "big" front and rear racks,
medium saddlesack (which I store the large shopsack in), big basket,
generator hub and lights, a couple tubes, patches, pump, etc weighs
42.4lbs. It's so heavy I have stopped caring. Friday night I carried 2
helinox chairs, a growler of beer, and a sweatshirt up my regular climb in
sandals and a soccer jersey and met my wife to watch the sunset. It took
me 15 minutes longer than it does on my road bike but that's beside the
point. I have several light bikes and I'd rather ride my Rivendell on most
occasions.
