You can fit a 12 speed cassette on a 7 speed freehub? How many out of
the 12 do you use?

to 12 if buying today. Depending on what you ride and how much you really need
either the low end 50 cog or the tightly spaced gears I’d actually go 10 as
it’s becoming the de facto “not cutting edge” standard. 1x10 with a clutch
derailleur seems great for many folks who aren’t super sensitive to gaps in
gears.
