To be clear: I think he’s a good advocate. He’s been amazing at being supportive of lots of capital G good causes and businesses. That is awesome. You can be an advocate for bikes no matter what your identity is. And you can/should be an ally then as well! It takes a little more care to do it in a way that isn’t othering and it’s been really great to see Bene (as well as Crust, the Radavist, a multitude of other fellow white dudes on bikes) grow into handling the issues of inclusion, representation and challenging the status quo.
