The Q is the same, you're just replacing the big ring with a chainguard. The 
main benefit of a Wide-Low double is you can set the fd stops to cover just the 
two rings, making friction front shifting almost index-like: push one way for 
low, the other way for high. You don't have the fiddliness of centering over 
the middle ring while trying not to catch the big one.
