I'm in California (where it's raining like heck at the moment) and not a huge fender fan for the mostly dry weather we get. But I have one bike (Breezer Doppler) I bought specifically to be the fendered shopper bike; its only purpose is to get me to the store and back in any weather I dare to pedal in. It's a nice way to have fenders when needed, but not be stuck with them all the time.
