I’ve looked hard at their square taper cranks, Joe, and should have mentioned them and they are the only others I’ve seen that are in the running so far. Their smallest chainring is 30t, their largest cog 20t, so that gives me a low of 44” and a medium of 55”. My current medium gear on my Hunqabeam is 48”, and it is great as that loaded mountain bikepacking fear for 90% of the milage, and 42” low for the tougher stuff. I wish I knew how the fatter tires will effect gearing. I have an idea on the QB (38mm) v the Hunqabeam (2.1”), but that includes a spritely road frame vs a beefy off roadish tourning frame. So I’m presuming I want to gear the same or a bit lower. But, then will I appreciate a 55” gear more often than a 50 or 48? These are the questions that drive better men then me round the bend. Sardonic grin. So, there is a flexability of gearing with the Silver than just isn’t there with the WI, so I don’t have to answer that question, I can swap chainrings. Grin.
