I linked to this over on the Stem Chronicles thread. It's the same stem you have and find to be 2cm too short. Except this one is...2cm shorter. Also it should be remembered that because of the heat tube angle, as you raise it, the stem effectively becomes shorter. So the 8cm reach on this stem can have the same effective reach as a 50mm "7" tallux that doesn't have as much overall height as the dirt drop (quill plus the upward angle of the dd itself).
