I brought it up...I can't emphasize how much they're wanting a local sell. 
I've packed bikes too(strangely enough for my brother in law who moved to 
Portland) and I hate it as well. So much so that I'm willing to pay my 
local shop $$$ to do it. UNLESS, it's a frame & fork which I'll do all day. 
And ESPECIALLY if it's a Cheviot that someone is trying to get for their 
wife as a nice gift!!!
