I think the Alfine crankset is super cute. I'd totally use that, unless you have some major reason you don't want to use it.
The Silver is a very good crankset, and the major reason I personally would choose it is that I'm a crank arm length snob and zealot. I have convinced myself that 170mm is too short, and 175mm is too long, and I've put my money where my mouth is throughout my fleet. I like the Silver in 173.
