Hello RBWOB, I offer for sale my well loved Heron Road Touring in size
57cm. This is a wonderful riding bike that I’ve actually bought twice. I
regretted selling it the first time and luckily bought it back. It’s
currently not getting the use it deserves and if I’m being honest with
myself it’s not perfectly sized for me so I’m letting it go. The feel of
this bike is livelier than my double TT Sam, but not as quick as a Romulus.
I will say that I used to live on a ridge in the Seattle area with a short
18% grade that I commuted up daily. This bike I always felt would climb in
a higher gear than any other bike I commuted on. If memory serves right the
tubing is Reynolds 531. Herons were designed by Grant Peterson and built
in Wisconsin by Waterford. Bike is located in northwest Indiana an hour
outside of Chicago. Asking $1200. I’ll cover packing by my lbs, you pay
actual shipping.

This bike is in used but not abused condition. It has some scratches in the
paint and isn’t perfect but still looks very nice. There is a dent in the
area of the right down tube shifter boss. Is was damaged during shipping.
It doesn’t affect the ride that I can tell and it being steel I’d feel
confident leaving it this way for the remainder of its life. However I
contacted Waterford about a repair and received this reply from Richard
Schwinn himself:

Worst case scenario:

Replace downtube/bosses: $250

Repaint: $700.

If we can pull out the dent, replace the boss and touch up: Figure
$4-500. Unfortunately we'll need to replace the decals because the blend
will overlap.

If you repaint, it's your opportunity to try a new color (though we have
the old one as well.

Thanks

Richard
