Kurt, I would base this on whether or not I was running 32 mm tires or 42+ mm tires. I had a 61 cm frame that was fine with 32 but if I wanted to really use the generous tire clearance, the top tube was higher than desirable off road. From what I understand, a 56 cm with 26” tires could possibly be better for you if you are running large tires.
