Im definitely going to do swept back like Billie bars bc I like the option of putting my hands forward on longer rides. I see this Platypus as a commuter, tourer, group ride zipppy bike if that helps. What I didn’t like about the 53cm Susie was how much I had to jack the seat up and handlebars but I was at the upper end range of the recommended pbh whereas with the Platy I’m at the very bottom for the 55! I agree with John on depending on the handlebar setup desired. Having gone up a size on a clem (64) - it felt awesome with a low swept back bars and a moderate length stem. (loscos ~110 stem) It would have never worked with flat bars because the reach was soooo long even with a shorty stem. the stack was very tall as well so I couldn't use boscos or high rise bars with comfort. I have a "proper sized" 59 clem that I use swept backs (bosco/tosco) with a longer stem and I could definitely run flat/risers bars on it. I would be happy with either size (59/64). I have more bar options with the smaller size given you can go with stems in any direction. The bigger size felt easier to fit roomy and I loved the unloaded handling on trails - but less bar options.The loscos felt perfect and looked amazing so I honestly didn't try much else. Based on the 55cm Platypus that my brother-in-law has, and I have test-ridden, I would guess you'd want the 55cm. For comparison, I'm 5' 8", with an 83 PBH, and my brother-in-law is the same height as me, but with probably a slightly shorter PBH.

At that size and PBH I would probably suggest 55. Are you asking about going larger than that?
Hi there,
I currently has a 56cm Susie and ended up trading it from my 53cm. I found the bigger frame and tires were more comfortable. I am 5’10 with an 82.5 PBH.
Now I’m buying a Platy and am in the same boat in between sizes. My PBH is just above the bottom limit for the 55cm. I know Riv says you can size up. I want to make sure it feel zippy but not small. Any thoughts? Thanks!
