It sounds as if you are a masher if you are cruising in a 84” and climbing
in a 68”.

With the new Roadeo and the OEM/stock 11-sp (Ultegra R8000), crossover
gearing, I’m still getting used again to shifting between big and small
rings. I learned to shift 2X5s back when cross-chaining was the ultimate
sin, and my only other current 2X (10) bike is a 1X + granny. So I was very
surprised to hear onlist recently that people nowadays shift all 11 cogs
with the outer/big ring. That certainly makes shifting on rolling terrain
easier than futzing between big and small rings.
