Hi all: bumping this with price reduced to $2,500 (or 2,100 Euros) or best
offer, plus shipping (if necessary). I’ll also consider bringing it back to the
US in Q1 2026. ~Sean

Subject: For Sale: Rivendell Sam Hillborne (pick up or will ship from Lisbon,
Portugal)

Year & Model

2013 Rivendell Bicycle Works Sam Hillborne (serial #: M1306124 — listed on
bikeindex.org and cicla.pt)

Frame size

58 cm (for riders 5’10” to 6’1.5” / 173 – 186 cm. I’m 6’ 1”)

Given the small size of apartments in Lisbon, I need to trim my “fleet” from 3
to 2 and let go of my Sam. While I lived in the Bay Area, I built Sam up as
something of a randonneuring style ‘country’ bike. This model has the double
top tube, in which I’ve fit a frame pump. It has a few modest nicks (now
protected with nail polish) but is otherwise in great shape given its vintage.
Below are the specs. For serious queries, I’m happy to send closeup photos of
this Sam’s beausage.

· Sugino XD2 wide/low double Crank 40/26t - 175

· Shimano 8 Ultegra Bar End Shifter - 8 Speed

· ACERA CS-HG400 8-speed Cassette 11-40 (installed June 2025)

· Shimano CLARIS Front double derailleur

· Silver Nitto S65 Crystal Fellow seat post

· Tektro R559 Brakes

· Shimano Tiagra Road Brake Levers

· Shimano Deore rear derailer

· Honjo aluminum fenders

· Brooks B17 honey brown saddle

· Nitto 48cm drop bars

· Shimano dual clip and clipless pedals

· Velocity Dyad 700c Wheelset (Silver, 36H, Presta) w/SON28 Dynamo
front hub that powers Schmidt Edelux II and rear fender light (can be setup to
charge electronics)

· Rene Herse Barlow Pass 700C 38cmm tires (Endurance casing for urban
streets!)

· Nitto Tallux Stem (26.0mm)

· King Cage IRIS Stainless Water Bottle Cage

Additional Included

· Nitto (Mark's) M1 front rack

· Large blue/grey Gilles Berthoud front Randonneur bag

· Nitto lowrider front racks (without hoop but work fine)

· Crane Brass Bell

· Anodized security Pitlock secures seat and both wheels from theft
(key and replacement code provided)

(I need to keep the Zefal HPX Frame Pump (#4), featured in the photos, for my
Quickbeam)

Asking: $2800 $2,500 (2,100 Euros) or best offer. The bike is currently in
Lisbon, Portugal (on view at Oficina 35 bike shop). If you fancy a trip to
Portugal to pick it up and do a tour (or just try it out), it’s a great country
to cycle (all year round). If you want me to ship it to you, let me know and
I’ll look into the cost. I’ll also consider bringing it back to the US in Q1
2026. Photos viewable at: https://www.icloud.com/sharedalbum/#B1tGY8gBYGXXp0M

Thanks,

Sean
