I will belatedly add that the “get the saddle in place first” is still the
cardinal rule of good bike fit; the truth of the proposition is self
evident because the predicate is contained in the definition of the subject.

Seriously, it’s obvious when you think about it (what I said). That said,
Ted is perfectly right in saying that a cm fore or aft is fine, especially
if your comparisons include different saddles or riding styles.
