NM ride looks awesome! I've seen the sandia mountains from a distance but haven't been IN them. My grandpa was from Santa Cruz NM and and grandma went to HS in El Rito. But they lived in California by the time I was around.
I rode up to Fremont Peak again yesterday afternoon/evening. Here's a pic from the Anza trail going over the hump from the fertile salinas valley towards San Juan.
