I had the same experience Steve. I started with the randos and found the hoods far too narrow. Then moved to the noodle. I've had the noodles for over a decade now and quite like them. I run the tops just a bit higher than my saddle which strikes a nice balance for upright riding on the hoods and a (relatively speaking) tucked position in the drops. It might be worth putting some miles on the noddles. They're on and, as you say, wrapped so nicely!
