Can't help you with a sale, but read your description with interest as I own a match-built Rivendell Road, serial # R73M. Enjoyed a ride on it this afternoon.

I've decided I don't use this bike enough, and need to cull the herd
(not enough room in the basement..) Besides, a bike like this should
be ridden with gusto, not wasting away in the dark.
The bike is a Match-built burnt orange road standard with white
headtube and fills, I can't remember the year! The BB ID is "R72M",
with 54 on the right side of the bb shell. It has a Cyclotourist
triple, 50, 40, 26. Phil Wood hubs with a screw on 7-speed
freewheel, FIR touring rims, roly poly tires. Suntour Alpha-3000
deraiiluers, Kelly take-offs on the bars with indexed shifters. Nitto
technomatic stem, nitto Dynamic 65 seatpost, Nitto stainless
waterbottle cages. Nitto deep drop bar. Campy brake levers with
hidden cables. Suntour Cyclone calipers. Of course, a honey Brooks
B-72 saddle.

I bought this in 2001? from a fellow who had it built up by
Rivendell, and because of health reasons had never used it. I think I
have about 500 miles on it, always stored indoors, no rain, no
brevets. The only marks I can find on it are two tiny rub marks on the
head tube from cables, and a tiny pin-sized chip on the left chain-
stay.
Included are assorted parts from the original owner including 2 NOS
spare freewheels.

I thought I would list it here first, looking for $1900 plus actual
packing and shipping from a good local shop (Boston area). Local
pickup OK. If no go here I plan an ebay auction beginning at $2000.
As an All-Rounder frame sold on Ebay recently for $1400 including
brakes, I think this is a fair price. If you think not, let me know
why.
Nothing to say to this group about the bike, it is a great mellow
ride, I my hope is someone here can enjoy it as much as I have.

PS- found an old email- the frame was built in late 1999. The wheels
were built by Joe Young.
