Mike: It may be possible to adapt the Ortlieb pannier rack clips to the basket. I've replaced the crummy clips on some otherwise serviceable panniers with the Ortlieb ones. They have an open jaw that slips over the tube and a rotating sleeve that then captures the tube. They are replacement parts. Credit for the idea goes to Alex Wetmore.
