I'm going along with those who are saying they'd bolt those cranks on
and ride. Back in the early 90's I had a Cook Bros. crankset that
wouldn't quite clear the big square chainstays on my Mountain Klein. I
took them to work and and had a machinist there take almost 1/4" of
material off the inside of each arm so they'd clear. Never had a
problem with the cranks. Finally retired the frame (after having a
crack in the seat tube repaired) when the dropouts were completely
beat out by the axles. Once you bolt them on you'll probably never
think about them again.
