Will try to keep this on-group topic. While doing some indoor work on
my LHT, decided it was as good a time as any to swap cranksets with
the Sam Hillborne, which was already inside.

For a while, have had terrible luck with cranks and/or bottom brackets
on the SH. Have had three different cranks on the bike and an equal
number of BBs. For one reason or another, something would start
creaking. The only time it didn't happen is with a Shimano Deore
crank and external bearing BB. Of course, that sorta shot the more
traditional looks of the bike.

A quick jump on the bike in the trainer showed no noise(!) after the
swap. Whether this continues to be the situation remains to be seen.
Probably won't get a serious test until spring. Hate to admit it, but
riding a winter trainer is becoming no fun after a few years.

Guess if that doesn't work out, will end up trying a Phil bottom
bracket (and maybe yet another crank).

(Oh, and if anyone cares, the Deore works fine on the LHT.)
