I once had an American Classic that was labeled 27.2 mm, but it kept sliding down the seat tube of the Columbus-tubed Celo Europa. Calipers revealed that the American Classic post was only 27.1 mm in actuality. Annoying, but while I thought about how to return it, I realized that my brother's Trek 400 frame (1992, great bike!) tended to be really tight in the seat clamp area, even though its nominal size is 27.2 mm. It turned out that that frame and the American Classic were a match made in heaven. Works great in the Trek.
David, didn't you have a steel Trek? If you still have it, you might give the VO post a shot in it. -Jim On Mar 6, 2011, at 2:43 PM, cyclotourist wrote: > I have a VO 2 bolt, and it slips down the seat tube over time.
