Several successful women racers are on 29ers, including Willow Koerber, Katie Compton, and Georgia Gould. Gould is 5'9" and the others are shorter. If you're interested, find a well designed 29er (Niner, Fisher, Orbea, Giant, to name a few) and try it. Don't assume they're only for tall riders.
