One small thing to add that hasn't been mentioned is zip tying through the holes of your leather straps and around the saddle rails. I do this as a little added precaution. Depending on whether you strap your saddlebag with buckles out or buckles hidden, pick the side that would require a would-be thief to try and pass the buckle through the bag.
