Heh, yeah--there's a low-traffic trail I ride at times where you can "start
out clean shaven and in shortsleeves and finish with a beard and sweater,"
for all the cobwebs.

I had a great storm race a few years ago.  The last dozen miles of a 7 day,
630 mile Inn to Inn tour we had a front following us.  It came with a
tailwind so we were surfing the storm, cranking south for all we were
worth.  We had to keep turning east to get home, so we'd turn and there'd
be a gust of wind from our left, then a spatter of rain, then we'd turn
south again and pedal like hell to get ahead of it.  Did that 3 or 4 times
but made it home before the big rain caught us...
