Hi Deb,

I use 39x15 on my commute bike, slightly taller 49x18 for brevets. I like 
to change the rear cog to 19 if there are steep pitches, which is why I 
like larger chainrings. Going from 15 to 14 or 16 is a bigger jump. On the 
other hand, if you plan to switch to an easier gear for some section of a 
brevet, then it's better to keep the smaller chainring. You can use the
