My recommendation would be to purchase a plastic kit, 1:35, 1:16 etc, and 
measure that kit then scale it up to your intended dimensions. This way you 
don't rely on someone else's plans only to discover that they are either wrong, 
or are missing a key measurement that you might want during the build.

Don't assemble the kit (until your 1:6 is finished) - measurements are much 
easier to take with your vernier when the kit is disassembled.
