I'm keeping the original (plastic) turret assemble and have cut out the turret base.
It will have an aluminum bar (1/2" x 1/16th I think) pop-riveted across the middle. A rod ill be welded to the center of it and slide into a tube welded to the base of the hull. The open bottom will let the gun elevate. The key is an turret without a bottom. I figure elevation is more important given the height of the gun is only about 8 to 10". I'm using a cut down GTVe which is pretty short and it will actualy swing below deck level at full elevation. Even with the bottom cut out, I can still mount the CO2 and Q-loader mag and elevate mecahnism in it. I'm gonna mount the electronics there and use a telephone extension cord to control the ESCs for the 2 drill motors and KCM that will rotate the turret The hull should completed next weekend. We are going with a solid suspension but will use pieces of aluminum that mimic the appearance of the real swing arms. I can then work on getting the turret set up and electronics installed.
