Sealed Lead Acid. 12V and between 12ah and 26ah or larger. You need 2 12v batteries to get 24volts. You will want 4 batteries (2 for in the tank, 2 for backup). The amp hour rating of the batteries tell you how long they will last, larger batteries obviously giving longer life. Determine how much room you have for your batteries and how much weight you are willing to lug around and you will have the size of batterys you will need. Sealed Lead Acid Batteries arew the type used in wheel chair applications and are the most cost effective option to power motors. Dont use car batteries.
