If you can find the plans for an artillery piece, that’s great. They can only
help. I have plans for the 88mm German anti-tank gun, for example.

I couldn’t find anything like that for the Bofors gun, though. I built it from
the specifications, videos, and photos I could find.

If you can use a drawing program like Visio, you can resize an image of the
piece to a known scale using the barrel length or some other specification.
Afterwards, you measure individual components and a rough idea of how big
everything should be. In the end, just do your best and try to make it close.
It’s very challenging to turn a paintball marker into a perfect true to scale
artillery cannon. Heck, if we were really sticklers for true scale, we’d toss
out those funky PzII’s !!!

I'm hoping I can get it done in time, but who knows. I'm wondering, do you
guys use plans to build artillery or just build it to look close? I want to do
a QF 3.7 in AA gun, but I can't find any sort of plans for one.

Excellent new Caleb. Be good to have you and the family attend again.. There
should be plenty of assets to use if you're not able to finish your artillery
piece. Building one of those will be will help when you decide to make a
vehicle. After all, tanks and armored cars are just mobile artillery pieces for
the most part.. See you in 4 weeks. John

Hey, John! Sorry for not getting back sooner, my aunt was in from WI and I'm
finally getting caught up on internet stuff.

Looking at the calendar, we don't have anything planned for that date, so we're
planning on coming. Had a blast at the last event, so I'm really looking
forward to this one. I'm even thinking about building an artillery piece since
I had so much fun with Doug's Bofors.

@John: I was talking to my dad and we would be very interested in coming to
the battle and take some video. Do you have a date yet?

Yes Caleb. It will be Sunday August 24th at Gettysburg again. Would love to
see the family again.
