And of course RDA is simply acknowledging what has already been a fact for some time, and will likely remain so for another very long time. Where do we currently stand on attempts to tweak the MARC format to facilitate more accurate double duty, such as coding certain characters as "nonfiling"? On the other hand, there have been compelling arguments for getting away from using even the 245 as a formal access point, or at least as the work/expression title (leaving it as just the manifestation title).
