WrenchesWe have been using nema 3 metal, stainless or even pvc 4x4 boxes with
plastic outdoor rated strain releafs, (same as sma has) also works on enphase,
good wire splice point. Some onspectors like them under modules some like them
exposed, l perfer under looks cleanerJerry

The lay-in lugs are not listed for use outdoors and will weld up with rust in
little time.Best bet is to replace the lug only with one of the several
available that are listed for direct burial and have been used to bond modules
in years past. It is a compromise as the bushing itself is not listed for use
outdoors either, but I think it is the lay-in lug that is the big problem.I
believe this has been discussed here in the past. BTW, it is not being used as
a strain relief, just a conduit end protector (there is no gripping of

reliefs on the ends of conduit runs that run between arrays on roof mounts? We
have arrays on two roof sections with a piece of rigid conduit connecting the
two, and galvanized MIGB's (ground bushings maybe some people call them?) on
each end of the pipe. It was just cited on an inspection that this was improper
use of equipment because the galv MIGB's are not rated for outdoor use? Anyone
have anything to back up the use of this method or have a preferred method for
strain relief and bonding for this application? Thanks for any thoughts.Adam
