Christopher I have used a Cummins 200 amp generator/grid transfer switch, it gives the gen start command, we used this so during normal operations we could pass through the full load where in backup mode the inverters took overSent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone -------- Original message --------From: Christopher Warfel <cwar...@entech-engineering.com> Date: 3/19/19 8:44 AM (GMT-08:00) To: re-wrenches@lists.re-wrenches.org Subject: Re: [RE-wrenches] Voltage seeking transfer switch I think you just use an automatic transfer switch similar to those used for back up generators. We are looking at one for backing up a community well pump that will transfer to a multimode system if the utility drops out. Meaning that if priority voltage source (grid) isn't available and second source is available it will switch to it with no external communication? We are trying to do a whole house backup, and critical load panel isn't possible. This may be common, I just haven't done it.
