Hi Bill,

Sounds like an intermittent field effect transistor in the power bridge. I
use the Schneider XW guy up in Oregon but I do not know if he works on the
old Trace gear. If you strike out, drop me an email and I will find it as I
never need him.

 They do not last forever and there are a ton of them with various issues
on ebay so beware. I just went thru a few with a die-hard old client that
would not modernize and bought old spares. He ended up paying me alot of
hours for me to say I told you so. It was a really nice drive 4 times....
