I have been using RB 5.5 for a while, and had been discouraged from
upgrading by comments on this list. I do most of my development on a
600MHz G3 iBook, and the comments suggested that compile times would
slow down a lot, and that I might have other problems as well.
I took advantage of the trial download, and have to say that I was
pleasantly surprised. My applications are not very large, and I noted
no significant slowdown of compilation. I actually like the new
windowing system, finding it easier to find the code than before.
So far I have had all positives except for the larger folder size.
I would encourage all who are thinking about it to try the free
download and see for themselves how it works for them.
