For the most part I am sorry I upgraded. There are a few advantages but just as many disadvantages. With RB200x, the compiles are very, very slow each and every time. Even if two consequetive lines have problems the compiles will take equally long. You can no longer drag a window to show two sections of code at the same time in the same window as far as I know. You need to convert your databases (mac apps compiled 6r2 are crashing when I open a 2nd database - which is something they did not do in 5.5.5 and RB2006r1, and RS has no plans to even consider fixing that since they have database engines (again)). The debugger is more clumsy for the most part. There are a lot of cosmetic and little chagnes which are just different. There are minor code changes like painting rows of a listbox more than the number of rows. I much prefer the older reference section which found things with fewer strokes, and didn't have a bunch of almost vacuous links. You can't copy from method names. You can no longer select a block of code and change something only in the block (at least not without selecting everything of that sort and carefully selecting from the selection).
The only killer new feature that I really appreciate in the RB2006 series is the ability to have contextual hierarchical menus. Color constants show as the actual color in a swatch. _______________________________________________ Unsubscribe or switch delivery mode: <http://www.realsoftware.com/support/listmanager/> Search the archives of this list here: <http://support.realsoftware.com/listarchives/lists.html>
