Please no! I hate databases. If listboxes were always taking their
sources from datasources, I'd certainly rewrite my own listbox
using canvases! Databases are certainly not required to make a
really good and complete application!

Apples list box (and I'm sure MS') don't actually hold any data
They manage the presentation process not the data
Oops, sorry. For me, "datasource" meant databases in RB.
