For what it's worth, I'm using RB 2007R1 without any serious slowdowns on an iMac Core 2 Duo with 2GB RAM. As somebody else mentioned on the list earlier, there ARE slowdowns when using it to debug in Windows via Parallels, another RAM-hungry application. Quitting as many other applications as possible does seem to help with that situation. If RS would fix the temp file problem, I'd be a really happy camper right now.
