Linking with a GPL library causes the issue

Might an upcoming release be more friendly? MySQL includes the right to choose v2 or newer:

* This program is free software; you can redistribute it and/or modify * it under the terms of the GNU General Public License as published by
* the Free Software Foundation; either version 2 of the License, or
* (at your option) any later version.

No
It's the terms of the GPL license where if you link to GPL'd code your code has to be GPL'd

MySQL does offer a different license that REAL could incorporate and cover this for all of us but if that meant the price of RB went up I'd say to hell with it as I don't use mySQL anyways.
PostgreSQL license says you can use it without fee, written consent etc.
